Firearms licenses of Gwen’s son, pals revoked

09:19 AM March 22, 2013

THE gun licenses of Paolo Garcia, only son of suspended Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, and his friends were finally revoked following his assault of several policemen at the Capitol in December last year.

Paolo Garcia has eight assorted firearms while his companions Jose Marie Primitivo Abellana Cal and Tonyson Luther Sun Lee own three and four firearms respectively.

The Firearms Licensing and Registration Board revoked the licenses based on the recommendation of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7).

Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo, PRO-7 chief, said the conduct of Garcia and his two friends in dealing with police personnel tasked with removing the tents posted at the Capitol main gate last Dec. 19 was sufficient ground to revoke the licenses.

Garcia reportedly hit Insp. Alvin Enguito on the head with the butt of a gun for removing tents used by his mother’s supporters. He and his friends were charged with direct assault before the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office.

Garbo called on the younger Garcia, Cal and Lee to surrender their guns as soon as possible before the police takes legal action against them.
