THE Marie Ernestine School, in cooperation with the Family and School Collaborative Association, will present an annual play entitled “The Shepherd King” on March 26 at 6 p.m. at the Ayala Activity Center.
The stars of the play are all students of both main and north campuses and the dancers are composed of students from senior kinder, grade 6 and grade 10 as well as selected students.
The Shepherd King is the story of David and how this young shepherder found favor with the Lord, the God of Israel. When the Philistine, Goliath, threatened the Israelites to war, David, as young as he was, defeated the giant and brought Israel to victory. King Saul, the King of Israel felt threatened with David and plotted to kill him even though David has expressed his loyalty to the anointed king to the throne. The story unfolds as David journeys from being a shepherd to becoming a king.
David will be portrayed by Aim Rivera, Goliath by Percival Upano and King Saul by Justin Keith Yap.
The songs are composed by musical director Eugene Tan and the script writer of the play is Pastor Dino Mapa.
The play is directed by school director Marie Ernestine Denise Fajatin-Pegarido. Pegarido will be assisted by stage director Marie Antoniette Castro and assistant stage director Melissa Mercadal.
The public is invited to watch.
