Fruitas Shakers eye 3rd straight win in D-League
THE Fruitas Shakers early success will be put to the test today as they take on the dangerous Blackwater Sports Elite in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City.
The Shakers opened their campaign in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup with an 81-56 rout over newcomer Jumbo Plastic last Tuesday. Then on Monday, they displayed tremendous poise and determination against Cebuana Lhuilleir, clawing back from 22-points down to stun the Gems, 75-72.
However, they take on a team which is also coming off two straight wins in the Elite. Blackwater Sports opened its campaign with an 86-80 win against Café France [1-1] then worked overtime to dispatch Cagayan Valley [1-0], 89-85, in a rematch of their semi-final series last conference.
Another triple bill has been lined up for today with defending champion NLEX drawing as much attention as the Road Warriors seek redemption when it battles the Gems at 12 noon. The third game at 4 p.m. pits debuting EA Regen Med against fellow newcomer Hog’s Breath, which aims for a second straight win. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
