MANILA, Philippines—Local officials will attend a summit on effective disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) hosted by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) at the Philippine International Convention Center on Wednesday.
The OCD in a statement said the summit is “in compliance to one of the seven directives issued by the President calling for the conduct of a summit for local chief executives which would discuss DRRM actions and tools as well as specify their roles and responsibilities for the efficient and effective delivery of government DRRM services.”
The summit of governors, mayors and all sectors of society will also be attended by Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, Defense Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo Batac and NDRRMC Executive Director and Civil Defense Administration Usec. Eduardo del Rosario.
The output of the pre-summit held on March 12 to 15 will be presented.
