MANILA, Philippines—The Light Rail Transit Authority announced Tuesday that it will suspend its operations for four days during the Lenten season to give way for its annual maintenance work.
In an advisory, LRTA spokesman, attorney Hernando Cabrera said they will suspend operations from March 27 to March 31, adding that the last trip for Lines 1 and 2 on the 27th will be at 8 p.m.
Line 1 runs from Baclaran station in Pasay City to Roosevelt station in Quezon City, while Line 2 stretches from Recto in Manila to Santolan in Pasig City.
Officer-in-charge, Engineer Emerson Benitez, said the maintenance work will involve replacement of rails and catenary wires, as well as the cleaning and check-up of all LRT facilities, systems and equipment.
Operations on both lanes will resume on April 1 at 5 a.m.
