ABS-CBN employee reported missing

MANILA, Philippines – An employee of ABS-CBN has been reported missing since Monday after she met with a woman at an office of the Bureau of Internal Revenue in Quezon City.

Members of the family of Obdulia Ambion-Cruz, 52, said they got no calls from her since Monday morning.

Records from the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit showed that Cruz, an administrative officer of the network, was last seen as she was about to leave her office to go to the BIR on Quezon Avenue.

The employee’s sister, Angelita Ambion-Lara, 49, reported the incident to the QCPD at around 1 a.m. Tuesday, or 15 hours since she was last contacted by her family.

Lara, a finance officer of ABS-CBN, told police that Cruz left her office at around 9 a.m. Monday and was seen boarding a taxi to go to the BIR office to meet a certain “Cherry.”

Quoting her sister, Lara said the woman only known as “Cherry” was absent and that Cruz talked to a woman named “Manang Liza.”

After talking with “Manang Liza,” Cruz left the BIR office, according to the QCPD blotter entry.

However, her family received no call from her from 10 a.m. Monday up to the present, nor has she returned to her office or home in Barangay (village) South Triangle.
