It’s summer but expect rainshowers—Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines – Even as summer season was officially declared Monday, isolated rainshowers were expected throughout the country in the daily forecast, the state weather bureau said Tuesday.

The whole country will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration [Pagasa] said.

Ridge of high pressure area, or opposite of low pressure area, was extending across Luzon as the northeast monsoon receded.

Rains will only be convective or due to accumulated clouds during the day.

Temperature in Metro Manila is between 23 and 33 degrees Celsius for Tuesday, Pagasa said.

“Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country,” its daily weather bulletin said.

“The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate,” it added.
