’Agnes, not Junjun during cash gift program’
It was acting Cebu Gov. Agnes Magpale and not Liberal Party-Cebu (LP-Cebu) gubernatorial candidate Hilario Davide III who attended the distribution of cash gifts to day care and barangay health workers in Pilar town, Camotes Islands last week.
“If Davide was in the island, he didn’t join the activity. They have their own program,” Evelyn Sinajon, acting Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) chief, said.
“Ma’am Agnes’s itinerary is for the distribution. Not even political issues were discussed,” she added.
Sinajon accompanied Magpale in the cash gift distribution at Pilar town, a 30-minute boat ride from mainland Camotes Island. She said they distributed P48 million in cash gifts.
Barangay health aides and tanods received P1,500 each while nutrition scholars and daycare workers received P2,400 each. Magpale sat on a chair at the distribution table while cash gifts were directly disbursed to them.
