Ship engineer’s killer wore a wig

A 39-YEAR-OLD ship engineer of the National Power Corporation (Napocor) was fatally shot by an unidentified assailant while having a drinking session in barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City.

Jomar Lacinto, a stay-in 2nd Engineer of Napocor’s ship docked in Poblacion, suffered three gunshot wounds in the back. He was declared dead at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Police said Lacinto, a native of the Bicol region, was with two female companions drinking in a bar during the attack at dawn yesterday.

Police said the assailant wore a wig and a black jacket.

PO2 John Carlo Jocutan, homicide investigator of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, said the ship’s captain Excelso Gonzales was immediately informed of the incident.

Gonzales said they were not aware if the victim had enemies in the area.
