Lovely Fe Andrin dethrones Tutor in 10k race of 2nd Phoenix Run

Lovely Fe Andrin outran her older counterparts to emerge champion in the 10-kilometer race of yesterday’s 2nd Phoenix Run at the Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces.

Andrin clocked 44 minutes and 12 seconds to claim the 10k crown in the female side.

Among those she beat was last year’s champion Christy Sevellino-Tutor, who settled for third place with a time of 47:07. Finishing second was Joeyry Lee, who clocked 44:54.

Lovely Fe’s sisters, Cherry and Jhean also managed podium finishes in the 5k category.

FEATURED STORIES

The youngest Cherry won the 5k female crown with a time of 21:22 while Jhean finished second, clocking 22:30. Keisha Mae Delechos finished third (22:31).

USPF’s Joel Delposo claimed the first place in the 5k division with a time of 17:06.

Kenyan runners lorded the men’s 10k race.

James Mbei clocked 34 minutes and six seconds to win the title while fellow Kenyan Abraham Missous finished second with a time of 34 minutes and 24 seconds. Elliud Lelei completed the Kenyan domination in the men’s side with a time of 34 minutes and 48 seconds for third place.

Meanwhile, Jose Antonio Yu and Maria Carmela Quijano claimed the top spots in the 10k students category with times of 54:24 and 58:42, respectively.

Melissa Jane Tan (35:36) and Louie Arreglo (27:06) lorded the 5k students category. with the time of and  each. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
