DILG officer’s murder: Rap filed vs coworker

NAGA CITY—The husband of an officer of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Bombon, Camarines Sur, who was found dead five days after she was reported missing, has filed murder charges on Friday in the Naga City prosecutor’s office against the suspect, the victim’s colleague at the DILG office.

Government Prosecutor Virgilio Balane Jr. said Gerald Napire (not Napere), husband of Ayres Napire, filed the case against confessed killer Dennis Medina (not a lawyer as earlier reported), coworker of Ayres and fellow DILG officer.

Balane said it would take at least 10 days for the prosecutor’s office to determine probable cause.

Medina, according to Balane, signed a waiver giving his consent to being detained while the case is pending.

The murder case against Medina was filed two days after he confessed to the police on Wednesday that he strangled Ayres to death  inside his car at 1:30 p.m. on March 8.
