DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines—Administration coalition campaign manager Senator Franklin Drilon asked the frontrunners among the Team PNoy candidates to campaign for colleagues who have yet to land in top 12 in the latest senatorial election surveys.
Drilon made the request as Team PNoy started its two-day campaign through vote-rich Pangasinan, which has more than 1.6 million voters.
President Benigno Aquino was to campaign for his handpicked candidates in a rally at the Stadia in this city on Friday morning.
“Loren (Legarda), Chiz (Escudero) and Alan (Cayetano) are already sure winners,” Drilon told reporters before mounting the stage. “We’re requesting them to push for those still in the lower rungs.”
The candidates who were shut out of the winning circle in Pulse Asia’s latest poll results are Aurora Representative Juan Edgardo Angara, former senators Ramon Magsaysay, Jr., and Jamby Madrigal, and former Akbayan Representative Risa Hontiveros.
“Pangasinan can make or break a candidate,” Madrigal said in her campaign speech.
