Palma: Have no fear

CEBU Archbishop Jose Palma urged the faithful to keep praying during these significant days in the life of the Catholic Church.

“As we wait for the election of the pope, we should always commit ourselves to continued prayer, invoking the assistance of the Holy Spirit. Afterall, the election of the pope is the work of the Holy Spirit,” he told reporters.

In his homily during the renewal of priestly vows and chrism Mass, Palma told the congregation not to be anxious while waiting for the election of St. Peter’s 266th successor.

“At these times, we should not fear. Christ does not leave the boat. I hope two days from now, we will have a pope,” said Palma, who is also the president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). /Reporter Ador Vincent Mayol
