Elite deploys Mangahas today

THE Blackwater Sports Elite take the floor today with a new court general in former Mapua standout Allan Mangahas when they take on the Café France Bakers in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena.

Mangahas replaces former ace guard Jeric Fortuna who decided to join the San Miguel Beermen in the ASEAN Basketball League. The Elite tries to implement a new fast-paced attack against a Bakers squad that is reeling from the loss of two key players.

Cebuano forward Roger Pogoy is joining his teammates on the Far Eastern University at Fruitas while former University of the Philippines wingman Alvin Padilla joined Cebuana Lhuillier in the offseason.

Today’s schedule features another triple bill with newcomer Jumbo Plastic and Boracay Rum seeking to rebound from Tuesday’s opening day loss. The Giants take on fellow newcomer Hogs Breath at 2 p.m. while the Waves collide with Informatics at 4 p.m.

Jumbo Plastic got a rude welcome from Fruitas on Tuesday, losing to the Shakers, 56-81, while the Waves bowed to Cebuana Lhuillier, 66-68. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
