4 killed in back-to-back shootings in New York state

NEW YORK—Four people were killed and two others wounded Wednesday in back-to-back shootings in the US state of New York, apparently carried out by the same gunman, local media reported.
Two people were killed at a car wash in the town of Herkimer and four others were shot in neighboring Mohawk, two of whom were killed, said the local NBC affiliate WKTW and the Herkimer Telegram, citing police.

The Telegram said the police were still searching for the gunman, who was said to be in his 50s.
The two towns are about 360 kilometers (225 miles) north of New York City.
