MANILA, Philippines – Police raided an alleged cybersex den in Davao City, an official announced Saturday, immediately after a campaign by the Philippine National Police to stop crimes committed via the Internet was launched.

Owners and operators of the Cyber City Teleservices, identified as Mary Jane Bacani and Ivory Abregana, were charged with violation of Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to section 5 (i) of the Electronic Commerce Act of 2000, Criminal and Investigation Detection Group (CIDG) Police Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr. said in a statement.

“The raid in Davao City should serve as a stern warning to those who are involved in explicit trade of sex toys and DVDs online to refrain from their activities,” Pagdilao said of the operations Thursday, the same day the Philippine National Police launched “Angel Net” to protect children, especially, against Internet fraud, cyberstalking, and other related abuses committed on the Web.
