Bryan Luigie Domingo, 21, started young in the “trade,” having been in and out of jail for robbery since he was a teenager.
The man also known as “Sisiw” (chick) was arrested again on Monday in Caloocan City, this time not only for allegedly robbing but also shooting a junk shop owner dead in Quezon City last week.
Insp. Elmer Monsalve, homicide section chief of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said the suspect was tagged as one of the men who killed Leonilo Marquez, 49, on March 4.
Described by the police as a member of the Sigue-Sigue Sputnik gang, the suspect was identified by two witnesses as one of the three attackers who broke into Marquez’s junk shop on Reynaldo Street in Barangay Nagkaisahang Nayon, Novaliches.
The robbers allegedly got away with P85,000 from the shop. The police are still hunting down two other suspects who were seen fleeing the crime scene on a motorcycle.
According to Monsalve, Domingo earned the moniker “Sisiw” for entering the world of crime at the young age of 14.
A day before his arrest, the police looked for Domingo at his grandmother’s house in Gen. De Leon, Valenzuela City. Monsalve said the suspect was then spotted fleeing the neighborhood by running over rooftops.
Acting on a tip, joint forces from the QCPD and the Northern Police District finally caught up with him Monday night on Larangay Street, Caloocan City.
A check with the Quezon City jail showed that Domingo was last detained there for robbery in 2011 but was later released on bail.
