A witness told police that shortly before the shooting he saw two motorcycles–the first driven by one person, closely tailed by another with two riders onboard–pass by his house, which is about 200 meters from where the victim was found.

He said he then heard three shots fired and a few seconds later, the motorcycle with the two riders again whizzed past his house, this time in the opposite direction, toward Mogpog proper.

Police said the witness was not able to see the faces of the two riders–who were not wearing helmets–because it was still dark. He also failed to see the plate number of the assailants’ motorcycle but noted it was a red Kawasaki 125.
