VIOLENCE against women worldwide continues to rise.

This scenario prompted the  Zonta Club of Cebu II to renew its commitment to unite in their stand against violence against women and children.

The club is spearheading the third series of Dangoyngoy sa Kahilum forum to mark the International Women’s Month at the Marcelo B. Fernan Press Center in Lahug, Cebu City on March 16, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Lawyer Ray Pablo Santiago, Ateneo Human Rights Center executive director, will present a comprehensive overview of Philippine legislation already in place to end violence against women, while lawyer Joan Dymphna Saniel-Amit, executive director of the Children’s Legal Bureau Inc. will discuss the Republic Act 9262, also known as the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act of 2004.
