BACOLOD CITY—This “siopao” (bun) is neither “asado” nor “bola-bola,” but of the narcotic kind.

A man visiting two inmates at the city’s district jail in Barangay (village) Taguling was arrested on Friday when he tried to sneak in the bun containing a packet of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), the chief of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, Senior Inspector Neil Exaltado, said.

Ryan Hiceta, 30, of Paglaum Village in Barangay Mansilingan was seeing inmates Andrew and Jake Bobe at about 4:40 p.m. when Jail Officer 1 Tricia Galicia found the shabu in a small heat-sealed packet.

Hecita is now detained at the city’s Police Station 8 and will face charges of illegal drug possession. Carla Gomez, Inquirer Visayas
