Future boxing champions to invade Lilo-an March 9

THE boxers billed as ‘Champions of tne Future’ are set to thrill fight fans in Liloan, Cebu this Saturday at the Panphil B. Frasco Memorial Sports Complex featuring boxers who fought in the 2011 GMA TV Boxing reality series ‘Buhay Boksingero.’

Unbeaten prospect Rajah Renoel Pael (10W-0L-1D, 4 KOs), who topped the flyweight finals of the said tournament, will face tough Ryan Bongcawil (7W-5L-3D, 3 KOs) in a 10 round, non-title contest.

Pael weighed 113 lbs while Bongcawil tipped the scales at 116 lbs during the official weigh-in held at the Flores Boxing Gym in Mandaue City supervised by Rolando Mendoza of GAB-Cebu. GMA TV covered the weigh-in and will air the fights on a delayed basis.

The card’s main event fighter, Gerpaul Valero, will face last minute substitute Jonathan Ricablanca. Valero weighed 116 lbs while Ricablanca was still on his way to Cebu from Bislig City during the weigh-in. He is set to be weighed at the GAB Office on his arrival. Their fight is set for eight rounds.

Valero topped the super flyweight category of ‘Buhay Boksingero.’

Also set to see action on the undercards are Jayson Redondo Singwangcha vs. Elmer Colve (10 rounds) and Ardie Boyosi Singwangcha vs. Jeffrey Jimenez (8 rounds).

Boyosi is unbeaten at 5W-0L-1D, 2 KOs while Jimenez (5W-14L-2D, 4 KOs) is a hard fighting veteran who lost to Dodie Boy Peñalosa Jr by 4th round TKO in a televised fight card two years ago.

The undercards will also feature Sesustener Llanera Singwangcha vs. Rodel Wenceslao (8 rounds), Neil John Tabanao Singwangcha vs. Jun Ryan Quimbo (6 rounds), Kenny Demecillo Singwangcha vs. Bryan Samson (6 rounds), Joey Canoy Singwangcha vs. Keith Batolenyo (6 rounds), Belmar Plaza vs. Junel Lacar (4 rounds) and Jonathan Francisco Singwangcha vs. Nike June Quinaadman (4 rounds).
