THE San Miguel Beermen try to put a stop to the seven-game winning streak of the Indonesia Warriors when the two squads face off today in the Asean Basketball League at the Tennis Indoor Senayan in Jakarta.
The Warriors showed no signs of slowing down even after a 19-day break as they beat the Chang Thailand Slammers, 69-60, last Wednesday to push their winning run to seven and stand atop the league with a 7-2 (win-loss) record.
However, the Beermen, who have come to life of late, will try to play spoiler and gain ground on the league-leaders.
After a roller-coaster six games, San Miguel has strung up two straight wins capped off by its 77-66 win over the Westport Malaysia Dragons last weekend.
In that game, Matt Rogers and Chris Banchero carried the team to the victory in the absence of Gabe Freeman and injured forward Eric Menk.
The Warriors will be a hard nut to crack as they will be bannered by Steve Thomas, who scored 16 points and grabbed 15 boards in their last game. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
