AN exhibit featuring shell mosaics will be displayed at the Bluewater Gallery of the Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort on March 16.
The exhibit, entitled “Kissing Shores,” is the first solo exhibition of student artist Lhee Isabel Taneo from the University of the Philippines (UP) Fine Arts program.
“Kissing Shores tells the stories of the island folks of Olango, where I came from,” said Taneo. “It metaphorically implies my personal sentiments of having had to settle in the city for almost a decade and leaving my hometown for education,” she added.
Taneo’s artworks feature the different lifestyles of people in Olango. Through this exhibit, Taneo intends to bridge the gap between the urban settlers and the island folks.
S even art pieces will be on display, including large-scale portraits of shell mosaics mounted on framed canvas. Taneo used the art technique of making mosaic.
Among those who will grace are National Commission for the Culture and Arts the exhibit are UP Cebu Fine Arts vice head Prof. Dennis Montera and the UP Cebu Fine Arts faculty.
