Three inmates bolt Toledo jail

Three inmates bolted out of their cell in barangay Poblacion, Toledo City, southwest Cebu last Saturday evening.

Joselito Rebaya, Nilo Lombreno and Junjun Canumay escaped by cutting the iron bars in the comfort room,  SPO4 Carmelito Hornales, desk officer of Toledo police, said.

A hacksaw was recovered at the back of the detention cell, police said.

SPO1 Jerson Lebumfacil found out that three of nine inmates were missing during headcount around 10 p.m. Saturday.

An inmate told police that it was Lombreno’s wife Angelina who provided the hacksaw while visiting her husband,  Hornales said.

Rebaya was charged with illegal possession of fireams. Lomreno is facing rape charges while Canumay was charged with frustrated murder.
