V. Mapa Street in Sta. Mesa, Manila was named in honor of the late Victorino Mapa, the second Filipino chief justice. Appointed associate justice of the Supreme in 1901, he was named chief justice in 1920. A public high school in Manila was also named after him. Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
