Kusug to name bets today

The Kugi Uswag Sugbo (Kusug) is expected to endorse today during the party’s convention the local candidates for the May 13 election.

Lawyer Raymond Alvin Garcia, who is the president of Kusug party, however refused to name their candidates because the official announcement will be made during the convention at the Grand Convention Center at 10 a.m.

However, a source of the party revealed that Kusug will be endorsing the tandem of reelectionist Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and Edgardo Labella.

The source said the party will endorse most of the candidates from Team Rama. One candidate for councilor will be from Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BO-PK) will also be included, the source said.

The source said Kusug will most likely endorse the candidacy of Mary Ann delos Santos and Gerry Guardo from Team Rama and Eugenio Jun Gabuya from BO-PK. Gabuya used to be allied with Kusug before he joined BO-PK.

“These candidates are still members of Kusug, so they will be included in our list of candidates,” the source said.

Garcia said the party will endorse candidates for mayor, vice-mayor, congressional candidates in the south and north districts, and at least five candidates for councilors in the north and in the south districts. He said they have come up with a list of candidates to be endorsed.
