SHS-AdC makes NBTC semis

THE Maynilad-powered Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles continued to raise Cebu’s banner up high as they barged into the semifinal round of the Seaoil National Basketball Training Center National High School Championships after sweeping their elimination round assignments yesterday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

The Eagles, the reigning champions of this tournament and the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi), first took care of the Philex Davao, 77-61, in their morning match.

Cesafi league MVP Dawn Ochea boosted his stock by scoring 15 points on top of six rebounds while Fletcher Galvez helped the team flaunt their frontcourt might with 14 points and nine boards.

Cesafi Mythical Five member and Rookie of the Year Arc Gabrielle Araw-Araw had an all-around display with 12 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

SHS-AdC capped off its day by destroying NLEX La Union, 102-49.

However, the Cebuanos are in for a rough semifinal round as they take on Manila powerhouse Hope Christan School.
