4 killed in three-way vehicular smashup in North Cotabato
COTABATO CITY – At least four people were killed while about a dozen others were injured in a three-way smashup between a passenger van, a passenger jeep, and a military truck in Pikit, North Cotabato on Friday, authorities said.
Col. Benjamin Hao, commander of the 7th Infantry Battalion based in Pikit, quoted witnesses as saying that the speeding van initially hit a passenger jeep on the opposite lane. An Army truck tailing the van then hit the spinning vehicle.
The van’s passengers were nursing students of St. Benedict Academy, who were on a field trip to Davao,” Hao said.
The identities of the fatalities remained unknown as of posting time.
