Security guard shoots dead teen in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines — A 19-year-old died after he was allegedly shot by a security guard before dawn Friday, police said.

Superintendent Romeo Desiderio, spokesman of the Cavite provincial police office, identified the victim as Vladinir Teves Jr. who was allegedly killed by Richard Marto inside the Villa Celina  Subdivision in Barangay (villge) Bayan Luma 7 in Imus around 1:20 a.m.

Desiderio said Marto, a security guard of the subdivision, shot Teves seven times using a 12-gauge shotgun.

Teves was rushed to Our Lady of Pillar Hospital in Imus City, but was declared dead on arrival, while the suspect was arrested by responding police officers.

The firearm used in the crime was recovered from Marto’s possession, he said.

The information on Marto’s motive was not immediately available.
