Jonher Merchandise bags title

THE Jonher Merchandise thrashed highly favored Parklane Hotel, 90-78, over the weekend to capture the championship of the Inter-Merchant-2013, Second Season basketball tournament at the CEC gym.

Parklane Hotel led by three, 23-20 in the opening period with Boy Delantar leading the charge. But the Merchandisers whipped up a furious, 35-15 storm in the second to erect a commanding 17-point advantage, 55-38, at the half and maintained their double digit advantage in the third.

The Hoteliers staged a last ditch rally by outscoring Jonher in the fourth, 25-20 but failed to overhaul their deficit.

Chuck Rosal and Christian Fajardo led Jonher Merchandise with 15 and 14 points, respectively while Boy Delantar and Mark Ting paced the losing Parklane Hotel with 19 and 15, markers.

After the championship game, the Inter-Merchant basketball officials headed by commissioner Peter Lalican awarded the coveted MVP award to Jonher Merchandise’s pointguard Chuck Rosal.
