Man stabbed dead for being too loud

MANILA, Philippines—A laborer was stabbed dead allegedly by two brothers who were annoyed by his loud voice inside a public market in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon.

Case investigator Police Officer 2 Rhic Pittong said the police were now looking for the killers of Leoncio Mangosong, 29, who were known only as Bato and Baleleng. All three were employed as porters at the Riverview Market in Barangay (village) Apolonio Samson in the Balintawak area.

The stabbing happened at 2 p.m. during a heated exchange between the two parties.

Pittong said Mangosong was walking inside the market with his brother, Leo, when they passed by Bato and Baleleng.

The suspects were apparently irked by the victim, who was talking in a loud voice, he said.

Despite Leo’s attempts to calm down the two sides, the confrontation soon led to a fistfight, during which the suspects pulled out their knives and stabbed Mangosong.

The victim’s brother ran out of the market and saw the victim fall from the blows when he looked back. The killers then escaped.
