LABORER HACKED DEAD
A VULCANIZING shop worker was hacked dead by his drinking buddy inside a videoke bar in barangay Guizo, Mandaue City.
Rosario Villapana 48, a native of Escalante, Negros Occidental, died of multiple hack wounds.
Police later arrested Wilfredo Repdos, 45, of barangay Tabok, Mandaue City.
According to the investigation, the two men argued over a woman while drinking inside the bar.
Repdos left on board a motorcycle and returned later with two bolos that he used in attacking the victim.
Some people who saw the attack collared Repdos.
Police said Repdos was injured after he was struck with a hard object.
Responding policemen brought Repdos to the Mandaue City Hospital for treatment and found the two bolos used in the killing.
A charge of murder will be filed against the suspect, said police. CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
STREET ROBBERY
TWO students were robbed while heading home in barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City, past midnight yesterday.
Lutgarda Ragodos, 21, and Emmalyn Torregosa, 22, were walking home when they chanced upon three men.
The strangers held them up at gunpoint.
A P45,000 laptop, a cell phone worth P8,000 and other valuables were taken in the robbery, said police.
PO3 Elmer Canillo said the three robbers have already been identified.
