Asilum included in PH U16 roster

A PLAYER from the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles has made the final 12-man lineup that will comprise the under-16 Youth Team that is set to battle in the Southeast Asian Basketball Association (Seaba) Youth Championships next week.

Henry Asilum, a native of Davao who now plays for the Magis Eagles, has been tabbed by head coach Olsen Racela to make the squad along with another former Magis Eagle, Adven Jess Diputado, who now plays for the San Beda Red Cubs.

Filipino-Americans Louie Brill, a 5-foot-11 guard, and the six-foot Nick Dalafu also made the final cut as well as big men Daryl Pascual, Gideon Babilonia, Gelo Vito and Jay Javelosa. Rounding out the squad are Kyles Lao, Hubert Cani and Ranbill Tangco.

The five-nation tournament, a qualifier for the Fiba Asia youth championships, is slated on Aug. 9 to 13 in Banting City, Selangor, Malaysia.

Also listed as reserves are Andrei Caracut (San Beda), Isaac Go (Xavier) and Earl Murphy (Southville International). Correspondent Jonas Panerio
