Estonian first lady visits Cebu

Cebu will host today the first lady of the Republic of Estonia, a northern European country which used to be a part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic.

Evelin Ilves, wife of Estonia’s President Toomas Hendrik Ilves is set to arrive at the Mactan Cebu International Airport at 11 a.m. today.

She will be accompanied by her 11-year-old daughter.

Provincial Tourism Officer Grace Paulino told CEBU DAILY NEWS that this is the first time that a first lady of Estonia will visit Cebu.

The visit of the first lady said Paulino is a personal trip and not in an official capacity.

Nonetheless, the Capitol is preparing the red carpet for the Estonian first lady when she visit the Cebu Provincial Capitol for a welcome dinner tonight.

Acting Gov. Agnes Magpale is hosting the welcome dinner for Ilves, and her entourage at the Capitol social hall.

The first lady’s entourage include an Estonian airport official and the consuls of the Philippines to Poland.
