3R Audio escapes JV Shop n Shop in CECABA
THE 3R Audio ’98 showed grace under pressure as it edged JV Shop n Shop ’97, 56-55, in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Rex Millian scored 17 points and had three rebounds, three steals and two assists to lead the way for Class ’98, which evened its record to 5-5 (win-loss).
Erick Andrew So had 15 points and six rebounds while Elvis Evanglista added 11 points and eight rebounds to help 3R Audio drop Class ’97 to 4-4.
The other game proved to be just as exciting as Las Vegas KTV-M16 Disco ’94 dealt Dimsum Frito 2003 its first loss of the tournament, 48-47.
Wellington Yu showed the way with a monster double-double of 24 points and 18 rebounds to propel Class ’94 to a 5-4 card.
Joel Catipay exploded with 29 points on top of six rebounds and two assists as Class 2003 saw its four-game winning run come to a halt. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
