Calderon replaces Frasco in investment body
Acting Gov. Agnes Magpale chose Provincial Board (PB) member Peter John Calderon to sit as board member of the Joint Investment Selection Committee (JISEC) which was formerly held by Christina Codilla-Frasco.
Magpale met with the Economic Enterprise Council (EEC) last Friday and had this discussed with members of the Manila Water Consortium.
Frasco, a daughter of suspended Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia resigned from the JISEC board.
Magpale however said, Calderon’s appointment will still need concurrence from the PB.
“Any contract that I sign will have to pass the PB… I still do not have authority from the PB,” she said.

Relics of St. Therese arrives in Cebu
The relic of St. Therese of the Child Jesus arrived at the Benito Ebuen Airbase around 7 a.m. yesterday and was welcomed by Bishop Leopoldo Tumulak of the Military Ordinariate.
It was later placed on a flower-decked military truck which brought the first-class relics to the Armed Forces (AFP) Central Command in Cebu City.
One of the devotees who paid tribute to the saint was 34-year-old soldier Rex Dayola.
Carrying his only daughter who survived cancer, he said, “I am thankful my daughter has survived through the intercession of St. Therese.” /Reporter Ador Vincent Mayol
