Contract of Carbon II builder terminated

/ 01:55 PM February 21, 2013

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama has ordered the termination of the contract of Young Builders Corp. for the reconstruction of unit II of the Carbon Market complex after the contractor of “abandoned” and caused “undue delays” in the project’s implementation.

Rama said that he wanted to call for another round of bidding for the reconstruction project so this could be given to a new contractor who can complete the project before his term ends.

In order to make funds available, Rama said, he is also in discussion with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) on the possibility of availing a low interest loan to complete the reconstruction project and other projects like the rehabilitation of the Freedom Park, also in the Carbon Market complex.
