Cebu Country Club, Alta make move
Cebu Country Club seized the lead in the Founders’ division halfway through the Philippine Airlines Interclub seniors’ golf tournament by firing 141 points yesterday for a two-day total of 282, four points ahead of another Cebuano team, Alta Vista.
Yesterday’s action was played at the rolling Club Filipino de Cebu course in Danao City.
Ramontito Garcia fired 49 points while Leor Alaan and Koitchi Horii added 46 for CCC which climbed from fourth on Thursday all the way to the top.
Alta Vista fired 136 points behind the 48s submitted by skipper Razy Razon and Masahisa Kawakami and the 40 of Victor Gocela to improve one rung higher.
First day leader, Manila Golf Club dropped to third with 273 after shooting 127 yesterday.

Victor Yuvallos led Pueblo with 47 points while Clifford Celdran added 45. Ed Yap counted with 40.
The second round score was 21 points less than their opening 153, but Celdran said it was expected and understandable.
“It’s hard to play for two consecutive days,” said Celdran, who on Thursday sizzled with 55 points. “We came here with only third place in mind, but if we win, why not?”
Celdran said half of their team is still in Cagayan de Oro still waiting for the plane that would take them here.
Luisita and Canlubang, still tipped to fight for the title, each carded 135 points as they go into the weekend separated by only two points.
Pepot Inigo and Francis Gaston posted 47 and 46, respectively while Seve Roxas Chua counted with 42 for Luisita.
Canlubang was led by team owner Luigi Yulo and Dave Hernandez who had 46 points apiece. Tony Olives completed scoring with 43.
