Flood warning up in Metro Manila, 9 provinces

MANILA, Philippines—The state weather bureau on Friday warned of possible flooding in Metro Manila and nearby provinces in Central Luzon as heavy rains continued.

At 11 a.m., the state weather bureau issued Yellow warning for Metro Manila  and the provinces of Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan and Zambales.

Calabarzon, comprising the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon, remained under Yellow warning in its latest advisory, after being placed earlier at 8 a.m.

The rains would continue for the next three hours, Pagasa said.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rains were observed in Nueva Ecija and Tarlac.

The incessant rains were caused by the prevailing northeast monsoon.

Pagasa warned of possible flooding in low-lying areas and those located near river channels.
