MANILA, Philippines—The lines are now “very clear” between the reformists and the opposition now that the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) dropped its three guest candidates, a spokesman of Team PNoy said on Thursday.
The three candidates who were dropped by UNA are Senators Francis “Chiz” Escudero and Loren Legarda and former MTRCB chairperson Grace Poe-Llamanzares.
They are officially running under the administration’s Team PNoy.
“Now the lines are very clear between the reformists and the opposition. At least the people will now have a clear choice whom to vote in the May 13 elections,” Team PNoy spokesman and Easter Samar Representative Ben Evardone said in a text message.
“We would like to stress that the three are our official candidates,” he said.
Evardone said Team PNoy was no longer surprised by UNA’s decision, saying it was “forthcoming after the three stood firm in supporting the reform agenda of President Aquino.”
