MANILA, Philippines—Operations of the Metro Rail Transit system have gone back to normal as of 12:16 p.m. after it encountered a problem along the south track of its North Avenue Station Thursday morning, its public relations officer Lysa Blancaflor said.

MRT Director for Operations Renato San Jose said their trains immediately resumed normal operations after they replaced a component of the south tracks.

Starting 10:49 a.m. only one train was allowed to go back and forth on the north tracks from North Avenue to Shaw Boulevard while six trains operated from Shaw Boulevard to Edsa Taft, said Blancaflor.
