Tour bus full of riders overturns on New York roadway
CORTLAND—A tour bus carrying more than 30 passengers has overturned on an upstate New York highway, injuring several people.
A dispatcher for the Broome County Sheriff’s Office says four people were seriously injured and 36 others suffered minor injuries. He says the accident happened Wednesday night on Interstate 81 in a southbound lane near the village of Whitney Point.
Two hospitals say they’re treating a total of 16 patients from the crash, most with minor injuries.
The tour bus industry safety has drawn heightened attention since a New York crash in March killed 15 people.
