Desiderio to play in All-Stars

THE COUNTRY’S best high school players converge in Manila to pit their skills against one another in the 2nd Seaoil High School All-Star Game on March 3 at the Ynares Center in Pasig City.

The game is one of the highlights of the National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) National Finals, which will be held in Manila on March 1 to 3.

And for the second year in a row, a young Cebuano hotshot will be in it in the form of former Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) juniors MVP Paul Desiderio of the University of the Visayas Baby Lancers.

Desiderio, who won the MVP plum back in 2011 for his dominating performance in the league en route to leading the Baby Lancers to the title, earned the shot to showcase his skills on a national level after he led his Light squad to a thrilling 83-81 win over the Dark team in the NBTC Cebu All Star game.  He scored 28 points in the said game including the game-winning layup.

This year’s All-Stars will also feature another Cebuano in two-time UAAP MVP Jerie Marlon Pingoy. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
