Two Koreans, Pinoy driver hurt in Borbon accident

TWO Korean tourists and a Filipino driver were injured when their van smashed the rear portion of a Ceres bus in sitio, Lamac, barangay Don Gregorio Antigu, Borbon town.

Seong Hee Yoon, 25 and her female Korean companion, Nam Gukhe, 26; and their Filipino driver Glicerio Muñez were brought to a hospital in Cebu City after the accident at past 4 p.m. last Sunday.

SP02 Owen Baticuang, desk officer of the Borbon police station, said the victims were on the Nissan Urban van heading for Cebu City after visiting spots in Bogo City when they met the accident.

Baticuang said that while the tourists were traveling along the national highway in Borbon town, the Ceres bus with plate number  GXV 379, which they were following suddenly stopped to pick up passengers.

Muñez, who was driving the Nissan Urvan, could not stop the vehicle, causing him to crash on the rear portion of the Ceres Bus.

No one was injured in the Ceres Bus, but Munez, 48, of Lapu-Lapu City had a fractured leg, while thje Koreans sustained bruises in their bodies.

The victims were brought to the Sogod hospital, but they were later transferred to a Cebu City hospital./Correspondent Jhunnex Napallacan
