Tapales fights Sanchez for WBC Silver title

/ 06:49 AM February 19, 2013

SUPERFLYWEIGHT prospect Marlon ‘The Nightmare’ Tapales will be fighting for the WBC Silver title against David ‘Tornado’ Sanchez of Mexico on Feb. 23 (Mexico Time) at the Gimnasio del Estado in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.

This fight was earlier set as a WBA super flyweight eliminator but RWS Promotions has confirmed news reports from Mexico that this fight will now be set for 12 rounds for the Silver belt of the World Boxing Council (WBC) in the 115 lb division. A win will certainly boost Tapales’ world ranking.

This will be the second overseas outing for the southpaw Tapales. Two years ago, he fought in Las Vegas and beat Alejandro Solorio by majority decision.
