COMAR WILLING TO STAY

THE fire marshal of  Cebu City  is willing to stay in his post amid rumors that he will be promoted to a higher position.

Senior Supt. Aderson Comar said that after he was promoted to his current rank, there were reports that he will be moved to the regional level as deputy chief for administration.

Comar said reports had it that he will be transferred because he is overqualified.

According to Section 7 of  the Republic Act 9263, a city marshal should have a rank of chief inspector or superintendent.

But Comar said the section only states the minimum rank of a city marshal.

“That only applies when the city is a small city. Cebu City is a highly urbanized city,” said Comar.

Comar cited Quezon City where the fire marshal is a senior superintendent.

Comar said he learned that his staff was asked by Senior Supt. Ma. Luisa Cerrudo Hadjula, regional director of the Bureau of Fire and Protection in Central Visayas (BFP-7), to prepare for his order for transfer, which she would sign upon returning from Manila on Monday.

Cebu Daily News tried to contact Hadjula but calls were not answered.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said he hasn’t received any memorandum transferring Comar to another post.

“But if that happens, then I won’t be surprised since that’s already the trend in City Hall—someone gets replaced all of a sudden without my knowledge,” Rama said./CORRESPONDENT EDISON A. DELOS ANGELES

2 CITY HALL WORKERS DETAINED

A MAN and a woman who were both workers of Cebu City Hall were detained after they were caught together in a motel on Tuesday night.

Police said it was the wife of the man who caught the two workers while they were about to leave a motel on Manalili Street.

The wife told police that she has been receiving text messages about the alleged relationship of the two workers.

The wife said it was already 5:30 p.m. last Tuesday when she noticed that her husband was not yet at home.

The wife said she became suspicious and her instinct led her to the motel.

The wife said it was at 8:30 p.m. when she spotted the woman about to leave the motel. The husband came out moments later.

The wife attacked the woman using an umbrella.

Roving tanods stopped the fight and brought the two workers to the Waterfront police station.

The wife said that last March, she confronted the woman for her alleged relationship with her husband.

The wife said she was willing to forgive her husband but not the woman.
