IN WHAT is expected to be a slambang encounter between world ranked contenders, Michael “Bruce Lee” Domingo (41-15-2, 19 KOs) of the ALA Gym will fight former WBA Interim super flyweight titleholder Drian “Golden Fists” Francisco (20-1-1, 16 KOs) on Sept. 3 at the Ynares gym.
“I am thankful for the well-known and highly respected ALA Promotions headed by Michael Aldeguer for not closing the door on this bout, which is certainly a must see for ring fans,” said Elmer Anuran of Saved by the Bell Promotions who promotes Francisco.
Francisco is moving up one division higher after losing his title to Tepparith Singwangcha of Thailand last May by unanimous decision in Petchaburi, Thailand while Domingo won his fight against Richard Samosir of Indonesia by 6th round TKO last July 30 at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-lapu City.
Francisco has beaten quality Panamanian fighters like Ricardo Nunez and Roberto Vasquez prior to suffering his first loss. Domingo lost his chance for a world title shot when he bowed to Vusi Malinga in South Africa. /Corresondent Rene Bonsubre Jr.
