Man caught selling marijuana

A 46-YEAR-OLD man was arrested by police for allegedly selling marijuana sticks in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City.

Onofre Cuizon allegedly sold five sticks of marijuana worth P50 to a policeman who posed as a buyer last Friday afternoon.

The buy-bust operation was conducted by operatives of the Basak police precinct led by Chief Insp. Wilson Abot.

Seized from Cuizon’s possession were 10 marijuana sticks and the marked money.

In barangay Cubacub, police arrested two men after they tried to escape a checkpoint in H. Abellana Street at dawn Saturday.

Police later found out that the backrider of the motorcycle, Tey Walter Ylanan, 22, was carrying a pack of suspected shabu.

The driver of the motorcycle, Jaypee Borbon, 22, failed to present a driver’s license.

Police said Borbon hurriedly made a U-turn after seeing the checkpoint but police cornered them.

Police said Borbon will be charged for driving without a license and disobedience, while Ylanan will be charged for possession of illegal drugs.

Vendor in San Remigio killed

A VENDOR  was found riddled with stab wounds in barangay Kayam, San Remigio town, Cebu.

Edita Sinadhan, 51, was found with nine stab wounds in the body.

Police said the woman was last seen alive selling liquor in a benefit dance in the barangay yesterday.

Sinadhan was found by a relative slumped on the ground early morning yesterday about 34 meters from her house.

SPO1 Joe Johnneskey Ynot said Sinadhan was brought to the Severro Verallo Memorial District Hospital in Bogo City but was declared dead by the attending doctor.

 Minglanilla house burgled

ABOUT half a million pesos in property were stolen from a house in barangay Vito, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.

Elisemo Abatol, 49, told police he and his family were in Carcar City attending the wake of a relative when their house was burglarized last Saturday evening.

Abatol said the house was in disarray when they arrived home past 10 p.m.

 2 Koreans robbed in Mandaue

TWO Koreans reported to the police that they were robbed at gunpoint by two unidentified men in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Kim Dong Wan, 24, single and Moon Youn Gun, 28, said their P2,500 cash was taken by the robbers.

The victims live in ESL Dormitory beside a school university in Zueleg Street, police said.

The two Koreans said they passed by the back of the school at past 11 p.m. Saturday when two men appeared from behind, poked a gun at them and declared a hold-up.

 Mandaue printing shop ransacked

A PRINTING shop was burglarized by unidentified thieves in barangay Looc, Mandaue City.

Jay Fort Montejo, owner of ZJM Piso Printing, discovered the burglary at 7 a.m. last Saturday.

Montejo, 26, said the thieves entered the shop by detaching a portion of the wall made of plywood at the back portion of the establishment.
