CEBU’S Jan Godfrey Seno notched his second Boys Under-14 title in the Philta-Palawan Regional Age-Group Tennis Tournament in last weekend’s fourth leg in Bacolod.
This after Seno frustrated Emmanuel Fuellas of Manila, 6-2, 6-3, in the finals.
The University of San Carlos netter defeated the same opponent for his first title in the second leg held in Iloilo City.
Seno advanced to the finals with a 7-6, 6-2 thrashing of Justin Suarez of Manila in the semifinals.
In the quarterfinals, he dismissed La Carlota’s Jimbo Gonzales, 7-5, 6-2.
After his title match against Fuellas, the two teamed up to grab the Boys 18 doubles title with a 6-2, 6-4, outsmarting of Jerome Romualdez and Fernando Arguelles.
Seno’s bid in the Boys Under 16 fizzled out when he lost to La Carlota’s RJ Singson, 4-6, 7-5, 10-8, in the quarterfinals.
The next leg will be held in Paranaque early next month. The tournament was a Group 2-sanctioned event. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
