Bam Aquino: Youth is my advantage

BAM Aquino – at 35 – may be the youngest senatorial aspirant in the May 13 elections, but he hopes to bring his youth in the Senate should he be chosen by the electorate.

“Each of the candidates has his or her own advocacies. My edge over them, I think, is my being the youngest. I’m hoping to represent the young. I don’t think being young is a disadvantage,” Aquino told reporters after meeting with urban poor groups and non-government organizations at the Pagtambayayong Foundation, Inc. in Cebu City yesterday.

The President’s cousin said he is elated that his ranking in the surveys has improved. “I’m happy that from the 29th, 24th, 21st, 17th, 15th, to being number 13 in the survey. Hopefully, our strategy would work,” he said.

Pagtambayayong Foundation Inc. director Francisco “Bimbo” Fernandez said any candidate is welcome to talk with the urban poor groups in Cebu.

“We invite candidates to talk with the people. Even if he or she is not under LP. What these groups need is to be heard,” he said. /Reporter Ador Vincent Mayol
